DETAILS & DISCLOSURES

How It Works

On November 11, 2020, starting at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (midnight on the East Coast of the United States) and continuing through to 12:00 a.m. November 12, 2020, Pacific Standard Time (the following midnight on the West Coast of the United States), the “Recording Period”, Veterans United Home Loans and its designated agents (“VU”) will be monitoring the social media platform Twitter to keep track of the number of tweets that thank a Veteran or Military Service Member.

How VU Will Keep Track

VU will attempt to count each public tweet that includes a Thank You Message as defined below. For the purposes of this effort a Thank You Message will be any tweet sent during the Recording Period that thanks a Veteran or Service Member for their service. VU will respond to as many of these Thank You Messages as it can. VU may not be able to count or respond to every Thank-You Message and makes no representation or warranty that it will be able to locate 100% of the Thank You Messages. VU will make good faith best efforts within the practical limits of technology and staff available to record and reply to as many Thank You Messages as possible.

How VU Will Make It Mean More

For every recorded Thank You Message, Veterans United will contribute $25.00 (twenty-five dollars) to Veterans for the purpose of paying off their mortgages. For example if there are 25,000 recorded Thank You Messages then Veterans United will pay off $625,000 worth of Veterans’s mortgages. Periodically throughout the Recording Period and at the end of the Recording Period Veterans United shall report how many Thank You Messages were recorded, and the total contributions toward Veteran mortgage payments that Veterans United shall make.

Minimum and Maximum Contribution

Regardless of the number of qualified Thank You messages, Veterans United is committed to contributing no less than $2,000,000.00 (two million dollars) toward the payment of Veterans’ mortgage balances; similarly Veterans United will cap its donations and regardless of the number of qualified Thank You messages recorded, Veterans United shall contribute no more than $3,000,000.00 (three million dollars)  toward the payment of Veterans’ mortgage balances.

This is not a sweepstakes, lottery, drawing or contest open to the public. Veterans who will receive a benefit as part of this campaign were selected by Veterans United from a group of current or former customers of Veterans United. Veterans selected will receive a payment that will allow them to pay off their remaining mortgage balance.
