Veterans United Home Loans Named One of Nation’s Best Workplaces for Millennials™ by Fortune and Great Place to Work®

July 22, 2021

COLUMBIA, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Veterans United Home Loans was named one of the nation’s Best Workplaces for Millennials by Fortune Magazine and Great Place to Work® for the sixth consecutive year. The nation’s largest VA purchase lender ranked No.10 on the list.

The Best Workplaces for Millennials award is based on an analysis of survey responses from more than 5.3 million current employees. Employees responded to over 60 survey questions describing how their organization creates a Great Place to Work culture. About 85 percent of the evaluation is based on millennials’ experiences of trust and reaching their full potential as a part of the company.

The company’s more than 5,000 employees focus on helping Veterans and their families secure homeownership. Their success is tied directly to living out its employee-created values: Be Passionate and Have Fun, Deliver Results with Integrity and Enhance Lives Every Day.

“We’re fortunate to have such an incredible group of people making Veterans United the kind of place they want it to be,” said Nate Long, CEO of Veterans United Home Loans. “That really is the heart of it. The people here take what could easily be just another normal job and turn it into something much more than that. Not only are they leaving a lasting impact on the people we serve, but they do the same thing for their coworkers, their families, and the people they run into out in the community. I think that’s a big part of what draws people to come work here.”

The Best Workplaces for Millennials list is highly competitive. Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture, selected the list using rigorous analytics and confidential employee feedback. Companies were only considered if they are a Great Place to Work-Certified™ organization.

Great Place to Work is the only company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated. Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.

“The Best Workplaces for Millennials™ treat their employees like people, not just employees,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work®. “These companies foster caring and respect for one another, at every level of the organization. The result is millennial employees who say they look forward to coming to work and – as our research says – are 50 times more likely to stay a long time.”

For the sixth consecutive year, Veterans United Home Loans ranked on Fortune Magazine’s list of 100 Best Companies to Work For® including 2021. In 2020, Veterans United Home Loan ranked No. 11 by Fortune for Top Workplaces for Women and No. 27 for Best Workplaces for Millennials. The company has also ranked on Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Financial Services and Insurance.
