Poor communication and the process became painfully slow, unlike the Veterans United service I used to. It still has a great, user-friendly website.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Christopher,
I appreciate your feedback, and I’m really sorry this experience didn’t match the smooth process you were expecting—especially after working with us before. Communication and efficiency are key when buying a home, and it’s frustrating when things don’t move as quickly as they should.
That said, I’m glad to hear you still found our website helpful. If you’d be open to sharing more about where we fell short, I’d love my advocates to have the chance to look into it. You can reach us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, but feel free to email anytime.
Veterans United has a lot of hoops to jump through to get the loan done, but it is understandable given the 0 down policy. As many hoops as their are you guys do a great job of walking g folks through them.

I would recommend VU because they know VA loans, and are experienced at getting them completed, including VA inspection

I will let every vet I know who’s ever interested in buying a home to use you guys. A+ effort all around.

Great team hands down! Friendly, and always responsive

Very professional and up to date with everything. Highly recommend

Had an amazing experience dealing with the VA from the very beginning, they answered any and all questions that we had and kept our to-dos up to date. Made buying our first home a breeze and would recommend anyone to go through them when buying a house 😀

Just wanted to say thanks we appreciate all the hard work you guys did for us and we are beyond happy

Everything was handled well, they team was supportive and easily contacted. The stipulations and the to do list were very long and I was disappointed that I had to pay extra for having closing pushed back, however this was out of VU Ortho control.

Love the company. i recommend you to all my vet friends. you knock it out of the park every time.

Overall I recommend Veterans United Home Loans. Easy to work with

My team was awesome!

They do everything great!

I just can't say enough about the excellent service that your team provided me. Great job people. My Wife Kate and I are very grateful. Thank you so much. Greg.

Highly recommend taking the plunge!

Communication was extremely poor. I was constantly having to call and email and call and call again w unanswered questions. I would explain something to my 'loan coordinator' and it would still be on my to do list for days. The whole To Do List was deceptively slick. In the end I felt it bordered on harrassment; because issues would seemingly be resolved but wait nope there it is again on the To Do List. Gotta take care of that to do list, even tho the task was supposed to have been removed by the loan coordinator. I was harrassed for things not even related to my account (a water test that was for another veteran!)Closing was delayed; I don't think I even found that out not even a week prior to the date.I never spoke to my loan coordinator even once, even though I left multiple messages for him to call me back.I still don't know how to set up my mortgage payments. There's a fee that was supposed to be waived because I am 100% disabled - I have no idea if that actually happened. Haley was 'unsure' and Donald never called me back.I had to jump through all sorts of hoops last minute to procure a bank check on a Friday afternoon for a Monday morning closing because no one could give me an actual dollar amount. My realtor was so out of communication I get a text from her the day AFTER closing saying 'did you close?'. Meanwhile she was constantly bragging how she found me my dream home - no she didn't!!! My mom's friend found it on Zillow!!!The appraisal was late, the inspection process was confusing and not properly explained, my house was not properly cleaned upon the move in date.....I feel I could go on but this is starting to affect my blood pressure.
