I was born in New London, CT right across the river from Groton, CT where my grandfather helped build the U.S.S. Nautilus as an Engineer with the U.S. Navy while my other grandfather fought in WWII with the Marines in the Pacific. Our family has deep military roots which continue with each generation. My connection to the military and the ability to serve those who serve our country is one of the reasons I enjoy working at Veterans United Home Loans. The other reason is that Veterans United is more than a business; it is a group of people who seek to make a positive impact on peoples' lives.
I graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Communication with an emphasis in Mass Communication. Although I've lived in Connecticut, Tennessee, and Southern Missouri, I call Columbia, MO home. When not helping retired and active duty military finance their homes, I enjoy biking on the MKT and spending time at home with my wonderful husband and three children.

Celina, Rynda, and Joedi were AMAZING! As first time homebuyers, we were more than a little anxious and had lots of questions. This team of wonderful ladies always got back to us promptly with the answers we needed. It was a tense process. There were a lot of things that came up, which I understand is normal in your everyday life, but not in the life of your customers. I know it's the age of AI and internet, but I'm old school and would prefer speaking to my team on a regular basis during the process, not just through MyVU, email or text messages. During a conversation on the phone, we each should have the undivided attention of each other and can discuss questions, documents pending or needed, misunderstanding of any items, etc. Many times it was an anxious time waiting to get an answer to questions through MyVU, text or email.
I DO appreciate all of the team's hard work !! We are excited to be in our new home !!!
Celina Mowery was an absolute bright light during this entire process. She could sense when we were anxious, frustrated about something and called me directly to ask what was going on and answer questions, etc.
