We will never being using Veteran's United to purchase a home again. We had an awful experience with communication, customer service and overall process of purchasing the home. As a company that directs its business only to military members and their families, this has been the most discouraging and frustrating process working with the loan team. We had issues with repeated requests for unnecessary documentation, frequent badgering phone calls from loan officers but when we tried to call, no one would answer or return voicemail messages, and blatant misinformation. We were over charged for items that our closing contract explicitly stated was not our responsibility to pay, and we had to get the numbers amended down multiple times. When asked for clarity on why closing cost were raised significantly, were told it was a mistake and they would get changed but never did. We ended up being forced to sign the documents without the final corrections so we weren't homeless while trying to get everything corrected and Veteran's United ended up costing us almost $2,000 in unplanned and unnecessary charges. It felt like they were trying everything in their power to make sure we didn't get a house.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Timothy,

Im really sorry to hear about the issues you faced throughout the process. We know that PCSing and navigating new employment while buying a home can be overwhelming, and I can only imagine how stressful this experience was for you. It sounds like communication and guidance fell short when you needed them most, and Im sorry we didnt deliver the level of service you expected or deserved.

Wed love to look into what happened with your closing costs and the extra charges you mentioned. If youre open to it, please reach out to my client advocate team at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com so we can review the details and see what we can do to help. Your feedback is important to us, and we want to make sure no one else has this kind of experience in the future.

The prospects of what is involved in purchasing a home terrified me. Chad and his team were beyond exceptional. They kept us informed and educated during the process. The enthusiasm and charismatic of the personnel was comforting. Well done brothers and sisters. Thank you.

I was very skeptical when I started speaking to Chad and the team. A few years prior I had reached out to inquire about buying a home, I felt I was laughed at and was told to call when my credit improves. Chad was different, he provided the route to success. The entire team provided guidance by provided the tools for my own success and set me on the path to own my own home.
Thank you so much.
