My name is David Smart and I started at VU in ‘21. The most rewarding aspect of my job here at VU is the opportunity to help Veterans, like my father (Navy) and brother (Marines), into homeownership. My upbringing brought me all over to places like Illinois, Florida, California, Arkansas & now I’m rooted here in St. Charles, Missouri. I am a graduate from Southeast Missouri State & that’s where I met my wife, Kristyn. After getting married in ’19 we welcomed our first daughter, Palmer, into the world. Our little family is rounded out by two very good rescue pups named Rafi & Chex. In my free time I enjoy landscaping, barbecuing, a good bourbon and watching my favorite sports teams.

David made a mistake, tried to correct it. His supervisor was terrible. I have reported the error to multiple agencies since it will cost my family over 20k. Terrible, they should have just corrected the error. Worse experience with a lender I have ever had. Last house we purchased was April of 2020 and it was a far better experience during the height of Covid when everything was shut down.

He contacted us about the refinancing and assisted us in the decision making process. His responses to our questions were quick and easy to understand. We are quite pleased with the lower payments.
