Jon Abernathy was born and raised in Columbia, Mo and has a very diverse career background. He was in the construction industry for several years before he opened a local sports bar and grill in 2004. In 2007, he joined the Veterans United team.
Jon's goal at work is to help each and every veteran and active duty service member fully understand and enjoy their VA financing experience. He walks in the door ready to work as hard and as efficiently as he possibly can and he prides himself on extending the same service that each and every veteran has done for this country. Not everyone can say they enjoy going to work every day, but Jon can honestly say he looks forward to working with you.
Jon enjoys going to Mizzou football games and St. Louis Cardinal's games but, most of all, he enjoys coaching the baseball team for his twin sons. He also loves to golf, hunt, fish, and go camping.

Overall the experience was a bit frustrating and the process was took to long.
But I would definitely refer other Veterans to the program.
Very efficient, good communications, thanks!
Veteran's United is pretty clear cut/ easy to work with but this comes at a cost. The title companies used by VU are deplortable and the closing costs max the legal limits. While I understand for profit business, I have little appreciation for such substantial profiteering as it applies to Veteran's home loans. The costs could and should be lower and the Title companies you all contract could be a step above. The next time we refinance, we are absolutly going to look at competative offers.
Jon and his team did a wonderful job! I was excited when I found out he and his team was handling my loan over 6 years later. They helped reduce the stress level and I can focus on other issues.
Jon answered my questions in a timely and helpful manner.
