Phil was out of office and still managed to answer all my questions and helped explain every step of the process along the way.
Phil has and has been great everytime we have used Veterans United. He has great communication skills and always answers all or any questions you have or he finds out and gets back with you quickly
The best experience and the fastest process ever, and I would know, this is our 5th house.
The team assigned to me made the entire process simple for a first time homebuyer, and I really liked how easy it was to use the veterans united online portal. I wouldn’t have asked for a better team!
We had a pretty bad experience working with Veterans United, specifically our loan coordinator- Cameron Baker. Our insurance agent and real estate agent said the same thing.
Phil was very nice and was good at responding to voicemails and emails, but Cameron was awful. He did not tell us things until the last minute and then would take a week to respond to emails. My wife said it was awful trying to communicate with him and my realtor said the same thing. Cameron did not order things that needed to be done, he thought he could wait until the last minute, and then when we or our agents had questions about what needed to be ordered, he would not answer. This was so so stressful. This was supposed to be a good experience as we are first time home buyers, but I hated it. It was so unnecessarily stressful. And apparently I am not the only one who thinks this. Along with my realtor and insurance agent, my best friend, a 100% disabled veteran, got screwed out of a house and job for both him and his wife because of Veterans United. We had high hopes with you, but they were shot down.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Austin,
First of all, Im so sorry to hear about your experience. Buying your first home should be exciting, and its clear we didnt provide the level of support and communication you deserved. It sounds like working with Cameron was especially challenging, and I understand how frustrating last-minute updates and long response times can be when youre already juggling so much. Im glad to hear that Phil was responsive, but I know that doesnt make up for the stress you went through.
My team would really appreciate the chance to connect with you directly to learn more about what happened. Your feedback is important, and we want to make things right for youand learn from this so we can do better for others, too. If youre open to it, please reach out to us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. Our team is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, but feel free to reach out anytime that works best for you.
Phil and Cameron both did an amazing job with answering all of my questions and making sure everything was done timely.
VU did an amazing job. The portal is very helpful, keeping me on task to get things done. I appreciate all of you very much!! 10/10.
