I really liked Annie a lot. She was a great coordinator. The reason I'm saying I would not recommend Veterans United is because I don't think that nationwide policies work well in rural areas. I feel that if we had sat down and talked with a local lender, we would have been more aware of a few things that hung us up. In a rural area, people need to have a local banker who has connections. I regret not going with our original planned lender. This purchase was much more difficult than any in the past. The other thing that bothered me was as a co-borrower, I am signing my name to a huge financial liability as well. Everything was always directed at the veteran, which I appreciate. However as a co-borrower, one can feel a little marginalized.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Samuel,
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I’m glad to hear you had a positive experience working with Annie—she really is great at what she does. That said, I’m sorry to hear you felt that parts of the process didn’t meet your expectations.
I can understand how working with a lender who’s more connected to your local area might seem like it could’ve been helpful, especially in a rural market. We do our best to provide personalized support no matter where our borrowers are, but I can see how you might feel that a local approach would have been more tailored.
I also want to acknowledge your feelings as a co-borrower. You’re absolutely right—signing onto such a major financial commitment is no small thing, and I’m sorry if you ever felt marginalized during the process. While we do have a strong focus on serving veterans, your role as a co-borrower is incredibly important, and I’ll be sure to pass this feedback along to our team.
If you’d like to chat more about your experience or share any additional details, my team would love to hear from you. You can reach us directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday, but feel free to reach out anytime.
Awesome job!!!
Thanks everyone!
Veterans United is awesome and my team was epic. I have a beautiful home thanks to them.
This is the perfect "Dream Team". Everyone works hand-in-hand. The website is safe because after you log in, you get a phone call with a one-time passcode to open the document. I also like the "docusign" forms because you automatically are guided through the areas of the document you have to sign.
You worked hard for us that we now have our home. Thanks for your guidance through all paperwork it made it easier.
We absolutely loved working with Veterans United on getting our home loan! The Loan team were amazing and helped us every step of the way to help our dreams of becoming first time homeowners come true! We are definitely blessed to have our loan team there with us every step of the way!
Always there to answer my questions in a timely manner.
This company is hands down some of the best people to work with.

Experience first-hand why 322,346 homeowners give us a perfect score!
The agencies recommended from the Veterans United portal are overpriced and do not help with military. Also while on TDY I kept recieving phone calls instead of texts where I wasnt supposed to be on a phone and had no access to a computer.
It’s not only Kevin, the whole team Lindsey and Frannie have also taken very good care of us!!
