We are glad to work with VA and with our loan officer Nick. All the questions that we asked were answered with patience. The process was easy and without any complexity.
I am grateful and blessed I was able to close on this loan. I feel that the team including the supervisor never owned up to the mistake that occurred with my loan process. We’re all human and it happens but for the supervisor to call me and not be apologetic with the process that there was not accurate information given to me was and is upsetting. I’ve used this company on my last home and had a great experience which is why I went with you all again. Based off of what occurred during my closing I would not be staying with you all long term and because I ended having to pay my sellers $1000 a week to extend the contract by two weeks I felt I had to seal this deal or I would’ve been out of even more money. I never was dishonest in this entire process and when the issue occurred where the loan wouldn’t finalize due to the proposed VA letter I was not contacted during that process it was as if no one at VU cared and it was written off as if it’s not their problem. All I can say is do better, be completely honest upfront instead of just trying to just make money. This is real life and this situation could’ve really put someone in a horrible financial bind or homeless. I had to jump through hoops on the VA side to get this closed and although I’m grateful when I actually drove to the regional VA center there was a supervisor there who sympathized with my situation I never felt that from VU when it was the lack of information I was given that landed me in that position. I highly recommend retraining and retraining again to the team and supervisor because what I went through no customer should have to experience that. Veterans United is an amazing service for anyone using an VA loan. My loan team was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and was able to guide me in the right direction when I knew very little about the home buying process. When I go to buy another home I will be looking to Veterans United again.
Once the actual mortgage process started, communication got confusing. My first loan officer, Heidi Sharp, was extremely helpful with immediate responses to all my questions during the pre-approval stage.Communication with Kayla was less responsive, and my emails to her and Dalton did not always get answered.It was also confusing as to what actions needed to be taken, by whom, at different stages of the process.What would be helpful would be a rough timeline and checklist of who does what, from offer to closing, and who has to send what info and documents to whom.
This team was absolutely phenomenal. I was served my retirement orders with a sub-optimal amount of time to purchase a house, and let me tell you, my team took almost all of the stress out of the experience. It was outstanding. 11/10 would recommend.
