We bought a rural property that had some complex issues, but the team I worked with (Jennifer Candler, Josh, and Amanda Girard) were all very professional, thorough, and determined to make it happen. Great job all around.

Closing a VA loan in 30 days is unheard of... people shy away from accepting offers from buyers because of the extra efforts they will have to go through to sell their house. Rick, Bridgette and the whole team were so quick in communicating what was needed to proceed to the next step. They all said that my response to their requests were key to success, but it takes both ends to make get the loan approved and closed. Rick's team is the best in the business, we offered on March 13th and closed on April 14th--the whole experience was unbelievably smooth--they were always available to answer my questions. VU's "To Do" list makes everything easier too... its always simple to see what is needed and what has been accomplished.
My Veterans United team (Charlotte, Kris, and Kyle) was amazing! They were so easy to work with and very helpful. My husband is overseas and I am in another state, and they made buying a house from a distance a breeze! Thank you for making this process a smooth one!
I never imagined in December I would be in my own home. I heard VA loans were near impossible to get. I just proved them wrong!

I believe the point of failure after 2 loses loans with Veterans United is the Underwriters. I have closed many loans successfully over the last 20 years and know for a fact the underwriters are exactly that and have an enormous responsibility but also an extreme amount of discretion. What I believe is missing is sense to appropriately exercise that discretion to effectively and efficiently close the loan for the customer while protecting the investment. The would not even allow something expressly permitted by the VA who is the ultimate backer of the loan and considered the gold standard even though it was specifically addressed to me and my qualifications as far as down payment etc. this is unsatisfactory and I will not only not ever use VU again, I will deter anyone I can base on my two times of miserable closings while I closed flawlessly on 6 other properties with banks, credit unions, National mortgage lenders as well as USAA. I believe VU fails Veterans at least they have failed me twice!
