I had previously worked with VU during a recent purchase that fell through. I had a horrible experience with a different real estate agent KayCee Del Valle. She tried to railroad the process and eventually blamed me for cancelling the contract. She also attempted to keep my earnest money. But after I reported her to the state realty commission my earnest deposit was partially refunded. She however kept my due diligence deposit. I will formally report her actions to the state of North Carolina in hopes that her license will be either revoked or suspended. The house she was attempting to sell has mold and is not structurally sound. She lied about every aspect of the sale and condition of the home along with the responsibilities of a broker.

Our first time home buying process was literally as perfect as it could be. Everyone was super informative, answered all of our questions, and was there with us every step of the way. After answering some questions then by Monday afternoon early my loan was approved, Josh did a great job dealing with me and answering questions and keeping me on the right path. Kelly Stephens was patient over the phone and explained what needed to be done when I did not want to upload my docs online to the Veterans United Home Loan site. She then contacted the attorney's office to request a hard copy of the signed closing docs to be sent to me through the US postal service - that were not provided to me at the day of the May 11, 2020 closing (and really should have been - as was done through my experience with other house closings in the past over my 23-yr, 7 mo. military active and civilian career, I had signed 2 copies at same time - one for me and for the other copy to stay for file of seller personnel)….It was a horrible closing experience through a "pandemic" - that was used by the builder attorney office as an excuse not to have any others attend the closing but office admin. and me, so a thank you here to Kelly! A hard copy was finally received at my new address on June 10.....


My experience with Veterans United was excellent. I had made several changes along the way but they were very understanding and supportive.




Even with all the hiccups they made it work and now we have the house that we think fits all of our needs perfectly.

Overall our experience went well. We had a lot of questions and never felt they were annoyed, they answered all of our questions. I'm sure there is a reason but we did become a little frustrated when they would ask for paperwork that we submitted over and over, but that is the only negative we had but like I said, I'm sure it was only routine
