I rented a duplex for the last 12 plus years. When I met with the owner in 2010 he said he didn’t raise the rent and I told him I don’t move. It wasn’t until last year that he raised the rent $100 and even then the rent was pretty cheap and hard to walk away from. He passed away earlier this year, his children then sold the property a few months later. The new property managers then almost doubled the rent, which made a mortgage payment seem like a good idea.
My point is that none of this was planned, I wasn’t looking for a house, nor am I crazy about the mortgage process or home ownership (why I rented for 12 years). With Brandon’s help I was able to get prequalified for a home loan within 2 days and Lisa’s help found a home, placed an offer and had it accepted within a week of finding out that my rent was going up.

The whole team was amazing from start to finish. The veterans United Corporation could cut back the to-do list a lot. Most of the to-dos were the same but re worded to confuse you. It was like going for a colenostopy with out being put to sleep. Thank goodness I'm retired or I would have never finished on time.
