Therefore, we were really apprehensive about trying another company but once we met Trish she eased our fears. My husband is a retired Army Soldier, who suffers from P.T.S.D. and just about any episode can set him off. However, everything about our home buying process went smoothly. I love the fact that you have a secure portal to place all of your documents in versus putting it in an email. This is what sets Veterans United apart from the rest. This is my 4th time using Veterans United.
2 home purchases, 2 refinances. I love how they have an electronic portal with clear “things to do”, “status,” and “document upload” sections. The employee quality has increased over time, I like the new group that helps with Insurance options they were very informative. However there are elements of bureaucracy that can cause unnecessary delays and miscommunication. The underwriter is not part of your loan team and your file can sit with them for long periods of time without any update, then they emerge demanding information with little lead time. Then you send it back to them, and have to wait for days to get feedback over whether that suffices. The Underwriter should have direct communication with the Buyer. It should at least be an option. I would definitely use them again, and I’m sure all loan entities have similar issues, but beware that you need to be on the ball and communicating with them regularly (send them a text) or something may go awry.

Veterans United made the home buying process for us first time home buyers very easy! They helped us with everything along the way, including setting us up with a realtor in the area we were looking in! They stayed on top of everything and made sure that we were prepared for everything along the way! I love how everything can be done online, the to-do list made things so much easier for me, being able to see what still needs to be done and what has been completed in such a user-friendly fashion. I don’t have any other company to compare them to, but we had such a great experience that I’m sure if we ever buy another home, Veteran’s United will have our business again!
