The people I felt with were great. The loan process however was disappointing to say the least. As a veteran with excellent credit history and scores, I felt like I was treated like someone who couldn’t be trusted. I was asked several times a day to submit paperwork, almost no day went by where I wasn’t asked to jump through their hoops. This was the 5th house I have bought and by far my worst experience.

When I woke up on New Year's Day this year, I looked around at my apartment and thought about how much I had whined and complained every single day the previous year, about apartment living and for a multitude of reasons! Hey, not everyone is cut out for apartment living! So I made a decision right then and there to pick up the phone and give Veterans United a call. Yep-- time to buy a house! Okay, so it was on a holiday that I had this epiphany however I went ahead and called, left a message and wouldn't you know it-- first thing January 2nd a Veterans United Representative was calling me back and I'm just going on and on about apartment living, my military service, the twists and turns my life has taken --- and this calm voice on the other end of the line said "we'll get you where you need to be to get in position to own your own home. AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE". I bawled when I was hanging up the phone.
Yesterday May 19th, I met my Realtor at the property I selected to do my final walkthrough. I went to the title company and signed ALOT of documents to purchase that property. TODAY I AM A HOMEOWNER.
