I would not use veterans United home loans again. They are unprofessional at best. The loan officers missed our closing date. We stayed in a hotel one week after we HAD to sell our home even though we didn’t have ours. Do your research before using them.

Response from Veterans United

Antonio, thank you for providing your open and honest feedback. Though we were pleased to know we were able to assist with some of your financial obligations due to the delay, we would like to hear from you on any further concerns regrading your experience. There are times when an appraisal comes back reflecting items we did not know would take time at length to clear, such as an easement but we certainly understand that frustration. While Veterans United does not have direct control over the actions of third party providers, it is important that we work together to promote resolution for you. Our hope is that your home serves you well and that our detailed explanation with a member of our client advocate team helped you gain knowledge on this issue. We expect that with mutual understanding we have shown a sincere desire to serve you well. Please reconnect with us if you would like to discuss your experience further.

We are always receiving mail and calls from other lenders and I always tell them I'm with Veterans United and have no interest in changing.

Veterans United is by far the easiest lender to work with and buy a house with. Scott and our loan team were amazing as always and are truly the best team to work with in the industry. Thank you veterans United for taking care of us again!

We had an amazing experience with our loan process and even with the bumps in the road they made sure we were taken care of and felt comfortable. We recommended Veterans United to everyone we know and look forward to continuing our home loan journey.

I've heard nothing but good praises for VU and have a hard time believing the negative banter throughout reviews.

Veterans United and my loan team did awesome in helping me purchase my first home. They made sure to let me know about documents and anything I needed in a timely manner. They made my first home buying process very easy and smooth. Thank you VU and my loan team for all of your help in getting my first ever home.

I'm a vet but didn't qualify for a VA loan because we were buying a second home. So if you're a vet like me I'd just go direct to a lender.

The process was not efficient, the electronic document system kept losing my information and I would have to fill it out again or re-upload, and it seemed like the loan team assigned to me waited until the last minute to start wrapping up my loan to close. Halfway through the process of closing my loan I regretted the decision of going with my choice. My loan felt like it was being put off to the last minute, and in fact it came down to the last minute. Every new closing document I received after the initial closing document, the cost due at closing increased by a substantial amount of money (thousands of dollars). When looking for my loan I went to Veterans United home page and did an inquire for a loan, I was assigned a team in Missouri. Come to find out there was a local Georgia Veterans United team that would have been a lot easier to work with, a simple radius search from a zip code in the Veterans United home page would have provided me with a team that was closer. The Veterans United teams need to work on not putting things off to the last minute, I provided a 24 hour turn around at most on all to-do-items yet they sat in the document box unreviewed for a week or more sometimes. Maybe this has to do with the lack of employees and having to many loans trying to be process at one time because of the hot market. If a timeline cannot be meet due to the amount work, then that needs to be communicated early and 30 day promises should not be made. If you need more time, it is as simple as communicating that early in the process so things can be adjusted, waiting to the last minute to communicate that the loan might not close puts people out on the street without a house.

Response from Veterans United

Thank you for sharing openly and honestly with us, Brett. We understand that the process of buying a home can be discouraging at times. For that reason, we are always looking to support your customer experience with excellent care. While there are aspects of the loan process that can only take place once all conditions have been satisfied; it is important that we take all feedback into account and look for ways to promote an excellent customer experience. We understand that preparing you for settlement is part of our commitment to excellent service. If you feel there were ways we could have better handled the process, then please give us a call to share more. Our Client Advocate team is always eager to listen and take action whenever possible.
