One thing I would suggest is more communication with the buyer. Even if there are no updates to provide, call them to tell them that things are progressing along smoothly. KEEP THEM COMFORTABLE WITH THE PROCESS. People are get anxious during this process so making them feel at ease is imperative. Don't make them chase you....you need to contact them even if (and again) no new information is available....let them know you are still working for them!!!! That will go a long way with the buyer.

As a first time home buyer, I went into this experience worried that it was going to be stressful because of the current state of the market. I was wrong. Everyone I spoke to at VU knew what they were doing and made my experience seamless and easy. Will definitely highly recommend to others and plan on using them if I ever need to refinance or buy another home.

The only negative experience I had was dealing with Walter Burk. It was hard to get answers when needing information. At one point I emailed him with questions and after a whole week received no answer from him. Hanna saved the day as she returned back to the office she had me answers within the hour. Overall I am pleased with the experience and cannot praise Hanna enough. She loves her job and it really shows with her compassion and attention to the customers need. Thanks again Hanna for making this experience wonderful. From the Smee family we’re in love with our new home and it wouldn’t be possible without you.

VU has fallen behind with competitors like Rocket and their unique offerings that address the challenging conditions for rates. Also the rate locking program is outdated and offers no flexibility. My loan team was great to work with and very responsive.

I would totally recommend going through this company to anyone who qualifies for a VA loan. The professionalism the extent in which day went and would continue to go to make sure that this process was as smooth as possible for those who have served their country is beyond refreshing. I struggle with PTSD so a lot of the brain work can be overwhelming at times, thank God this awesome team was there to do a lot of that for me so that I did not have any anxiety or feel as though I was being taken advantage of at any point. It is clear Veterans United is a big lender with no real concern for the person trying to get a loan. I got a free pair of socks but was living in a hotel for a month while trying to close on the house so it didn’t really help and the loan officer got upset with me and got emotional because I said I don’t feel like he is actually doing all he can to benefit me. I had to google the VA lending regulations to prove to him that certain things he requested were not required. I even contacted my previous lending officer from another home purchase to help me with the process and advise me and it was more informative then veterans United lender. Overall unsatisfied and will not use again. At the end of the day I’m paying for a service and I will favor the person who services me to my expectations. I started the loan process with another lender just in case he wasn’t capable of closing and he advised me against it because “we are so close” yet I could not get a projected closing date.
