Everything fell into place. From initial contact to final closing. The documents needed throughout the process were upload to the “My Veterans United” app. Any questions I had were answered to my satisfaction and there was constant communication whether a phone call, email, or text. All in all it was a very good experience.I’ll also add, this wasn’t my first experience with purchasing a home using the VA loan and by far this was the easiest.

My experience with Kevin and his team was nothing short of amazing. From the time I entered my info to talk to someone about pre-approved through settlement, they were most helpful and efficient. Cris, Adam, Tressa, Jackie, Jessica and Kevin were all consummate professionals and helpful. I highly recommend Veterans United.

Sarah, Kristine, Andrea, and Kurt made the whole process pretty smooth. With this being my first home purchase, I was pretty nervous since I didn't really know what to expect but they laid everything out for me and helped a lot to set my mind at ease

Everyone at VU was terrific. You saved me a lot of money, even with my insurance!!The only issue I had with VU was the underwriting process. Some of the tasks could have been clearer and added extra stress. I suggest re-evaluating all the deeply personal information required, which seemed excessive.Additionally, wire transfers should be allowed from Fidelity. That process was challenging, and in the end, I had to personally go into my bank - not having stepped foot in it in almost 25 years to get a cashier's check. Having to do this only introduced human error into the mix of an already stressful process. With my exceptional credit rating, satisfying the underwriters made me feel I was untrustworthy and left me concerned that the process was rife with potential identity theft. If I knew I'd have to go through the underwriter's process again, I may rethink going with VU.

It has been 24 years since my husband separated from the Army and we have never before pursued using his VA loan benefit, so the process was new to us. I was hesitant to go this route simply based on the fact that we knew nothing about the process and this was our third home purchase in 21 years. We got great service from everyone at VU! And there was so much we didn't know and needed to have explained along the way. The biggest thing that stands out in my mind about our experience is how EASY everything was and how seamlessly the process was from initial loan approval to closing. We got the keys to our home yesterday (10/25) and our closing date was 11/4!

My wife and I have purchased many homes over the years - this transaction with Veterans United was by far the easiest and smoothest! Nobody enjoys the home loan process, but our VU team kept us informed and the process was laid out, so there were no surprises. Our entire team CJ, Rachel and LaSar were available quickly and promptly to answer any questions and offer guidance. Thank you to team!!

This truly was the worst experience I've ever had in obtaining a mortgage or any sort of loan. Alberto was about the most unprofessional loan officer that I have ever dealt with. Between numbers constantly changing, accusatory statements towards my company, constant requests for different documents that go back further than what should have been needed, dialogue with my girlfriend about my income that should have been a conversation with me first, then asking my third party accountant to send an e-mail confirming something I've already confirmed (which is illegal and unethical). I simply cannot express my disgust enough with this process. Luckily, James stepped in near the end after the many fumbles the MVU team made. The process was eventually complete after almost losing our new home due to a time factor caused by Alberto. But never again will I use MVU. I hope anyone who uses MVU has a better experience than what I had. Best of luck to everyone.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Christopher, while we are glad to hear that in the end you had a positive experience with a member of our VU family, it sounds like it was not your overall journey. We know how tiresome it can be to tackle paperwork head on each day. For this reason, it is our goal to guide you every step of the way and make the process seem as easy as possible. The process for disclosing the costs of a loan is managed very closely. Though, we also understand how relying on estimates for a portion of the home buying process can seem inconsistent or make it difficult to trust the process. We apologize for any time that you felt we could have done better. Our Client Advocate team will use your comments to ensure we are considering ways to improve, and we hope your new home serves you well in the future.
