OUTSTANDING functioning team. Above all others. The care they show to Veterans is one that I recommend for any active duty or veteran.
Nikki Cravens-Howard was outstanding. Even when she was off for a week we did not feel abandoned. Her supervisor took a key call and Nikki communicated thoroughly with me the day before her vacation and called immediately upon her return. We had several challenges with the credit scores for both myself and wife but this young lady was the perfect liason between the credit bureau and us. I am in awe of the EXTRA work, faxes and phone calls she made on our behalf. This team was amazing but I don't think this closes by our closing date without Nikki so THANK YOU DEARLY. Also, cannot forget Drew Webber who came in near the end and felt like he was there to personally take us over the finish line. AWESOME TEAM and you all deserve scores of TEN & HIGHER.
It was a fast and easy process we would like to thank the hole team we appreciate you all
Great people willing to guide you through every step of the way. No blame on them for anything with this process.

Great team very helpful.
Collin Cochran was helpful during the process, however, his team seemed very inexperienced. Last year when I purchased a home through Veterans United, the process was very smooth and that was definitely not the case this time.It was extremely frustrating to be asked for several documents that I didn't have to provide less than a year ago. The communication this time around was not good at all.I understand each Underwriter will do things a bit different, but there should be a standard across the board. I was asked to provide documentation to show I would serve at least one year after my closing date, so I provided a copy of my Official Orders, only to be asked to provide a copy of the paperwork that I had to submit to get my orders processed, as if I modified a set of orders.I was asked to provide receipts for funds in both my business and personal accounts, only to be asked a week or so later to provide a copy of the checks from my clients that I provided those receipts for. Why not ask for all of those documents at the same time? Instead it was an inconvenience for me to have to leave the office early some days to go to the bank or other places to get those documents. There were way too many surprises throughout the process this time around, even on the day of closing. I was so upset the day of closing that I felt like I made a huge mistake with the purchase. I was told by Mike K., that I couldn't escrow the flood Insurance, so I paid out of pocket only to find out that information was not accurate and because of that information, it effected (increased) my monthly payments by $136.00, as I noticed the paperwork showed the flood Insurance was escrowed, bringing my monthly payment on a $39,200.00 loan from $475.00/month to $611.08/month.So, no I will not be recommending Veterans United to my fellow service members, family or friends because I was truly let down.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Craig,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. I'm really sorry to hear that your recent experience with Veterans United was frustrating and didn't reflect the positive journey you had with us the first time. It’s clear that there were multiple issues throughout the process, and I apologize for the inconvenience and stress this caused.
While I'm glad to hear that Collin Cochran was helpful, it's disappointing to know that the rest of the team seemed inexperienced and that communication was poor. The repeated requests for additional documentation and the misinformation regarding your flood insurance are particularly troubling.
Your experience highlights the need for consistency and clear communication throughout the loan process. It’s unacceptable that you had to repeatedly leave work to gather documents, and the last-minute surprises you encountered are not the standard we strive to uphold.

Had an incredible experience working with Veterans United for our home purchase. The journey of buying a home was a roller coaster of emotions and uncertainty, but Cassie R., our real estate agent, was exceptional in every way. Her professionalism, friendliness, and compassion truly set her apart. She handled every detail with expertise and care, making the entire lengthy process enjoyable and stress-free. In the end, she helped us find our literal dream house, and we couldn't have asked for a better real estate agent.Additionally, Chris D. and his team were fantastic as our loan officers. Their quick text responses and clear communication made everything so much simpler and easier to understand. Chris's dedication and expertise were truly impressive, and we are grateful for his guidance and support every step of the way.Overall, Veterans United provided this U.S. Army veteran with an outstanding home buying experience. I give them a perfect 10 out of 10 and two thumbs up! I highly recommend them to any veteran looking to purchase a home. Plus, we closed on our dream home in just 26 days from the first offer—three days ahead of schedule!
Unfortunately there was a big push to make our closings. I am happy that we were able to close.
