The only inconvenience was the underwriter wanting an actual quote or invoice from the allowance I was receiving. I was buying the materials from Lowe’s and sent screen shots of the online shopping cart with the prices but that wasn’t good enough. I had to spend 45 min on the phone with Lowe’s to get a formal quote with the exact same prices. I also would not have been able to provide an invoice because I didn’t get the allowance yet and wouldn’t pay out of pocket

We first applied in June, 2017. Due to my husband's work history, we were not approved. Our Loan Specialist, Rob Weigand told us what needed to be done, and suggested we re apply in a year or so. In June, 17, 2019 we reapplied, got pre-approved within a few days, found a home we liked and put an offer on July, 15, 2019. We got the keys to our house on Aug, 19th, 2019. The process is so simple! All documents they asked for are documents easy to obtain. I highly recommend Veterans to take advantage of this amazing benefit.
