If anyone is looking to purchase a home, and find the normal 5, 10 percent to put down difficult to come up with then Veterans United is the way to go. Our loan team was great, not pushy, very knowledgeable to work with. We highly recommend using Veterans United as your way to home ownership.
I would recommend these people to anyone! They are great to work and and very helpful. Would absolutely use them again if needed.
Veterans United provided me and my wife great services which help us achieve the ultimate goal of owning a home.
The underwriters pulled the plug on our closing (last minute) after we just drove 1000 miles with no warning. This unnecessary delay cost is a significant amount of time and money. Thanks to our real estate agent, we were finally able to close 3 days later. During this time the communication with Veterans United was terrible. We were left hanging with the extra expenses and lost time. We had to locate accommodations for us, as well as our dog after staying with relatives for the first (planned) night. We also had to cancel appointments we had scheduled with contractors to perform several upgrades we wanted to do as well as a scheduled delivery (after we were assured “cleared to close”. The inconveniences were huge to us, but seemed minuscule or non existent to Veterans United. I would be hard pressed to recommend Veterans United to any brother or sister veteran (just the opposite, I would advise stay away). The company actions certainly did not represent the company name for us. Maybe our loan coordinator should have actually coordinated…. I doubt this writing will spur any action, but you asked so here it is.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Mark, thank you for your open and honest feedback. Providing clear and effective communication is a top priority. We definitely understand the stress involved when a seller is unable to make home repairs prior to the week of closing. Once our underwriter was provided with an updated seller addendum listing repairs needed, your team worked swiftly to complete what was needed per VA guidelines. It is very good that you had those issues fixed prior to taking ownership of your new home. While there are aspects of the loan process that can only take place once the necessary repairs are verified as complete; it is important that we take all feedback into account and look for ways to promote an excellent customer experience. A member of our Client Advocate team will be researching this further to determine how we may improve our service for future clients. If you would like to further share your experience with our team we would value the opportunity to learn more.
The service that Jason and his team provided for us was outstanding. They were with us every step of the way. I definitely recommend Veterans United Home Loans to any vet looking to use their VA home loan benefits.
10 years ago, as someone who slept in my truck, I never imagined having an apartment, much less, be a homeowner. Today's economic climate gave me even more uncertainty that this would be possible, but here were are. I am so grateful to God for assembling a team to make this goal a reality. Never give up if this is something you desire. If I can do it, anyone can. Anything is possible.
