The lack of communication and incompetence of who we were assigned made our home buying experience beyond frustrating and we would never want anyone else to experience what we went through. We were given wrong information from the beginning and at the last minute, major details were changed which would have been completely avoidable if our “team” knew how to do their job. They weren’t a team at all, how they behaved to us and our realtor was not professional and was as if they were against us.

Communication between our loan coordinator, Christina, and our loan officer, Garet, could have been better. For instance, we were planning a remote closing the entire time and my agent made Veterans United aware of this through Christina. However, when closing day came around Garet was surprised. This caused quite a bit of stress and confusion for us after talking to Garet on the phone the day of. Additionally, we were not at all prepared by anyone for our remote closing. I was unaware until the day of that we would be required to print the documents ourselves and have them notorized. This was our first home buying experience so we had no idea how closing typically goes. This would have been a non-issue if we had been given time to plan and prepare, but instead we found ourselves unnecessarily stressed and surprised by the costs of notary fees. We would of liked to have done a little research into where to go instead of using UPS last minute like we did. Perhaps we missed the educational video on that, but ideally someone should have informed us. Otherwise our experience was great. Garet worked to have us close on time despite delays in repairs needed. Christina was very responsive as well. We're overall extremely happy with how things went.
We had multiple companies trying to convince us to give them am opportunity. However, Toby and the Veterans United team were so professional and awesome that we would not consider any other company to handle our loan process. It was a wonderful experience and I recommend any Veteran or anyone seeking a loan to utilize Veterans United.
