Everything worked out well, it was just a little bit annoying that the app would not accept PDF documents and would only accept pictures. Also when they kept asking for documents and explanations about my wife's income about pay gaps. We had already talked and explained that we had transferred from coast to coast, so we never understood why there was such a big deal about her civilian work transition. Other than that it was great, Steph was checking up on us every few weeks as well as Marina.
Too many people involved for one loan, things get missed and mixed up in the process leading to more stress and confusion, plus my loan coordinator was using ChatGPT to answer questions I had, I would’ve done that myself, also the final closing disclosure was shocking as it increased the cash to close by $6k, how was that not brought up before hand on all the other loan estimates. General attitude of my loan coordinator was unacceptable, it resorted to my wife doing all of the paperwork with her because I couldn’t talk to her. I don’t think there’s a need for a loan coordinator if the loan officer is the one asking for all the documentation to send to the underwriter. I wouldn’t go through with this or a VA home loan again because of this experience.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Tralin,
I’m sorry this process left you feeling more stressed and confused instead of supported. Having multiple people involved should never leave you wondering who is responsible for what or feeling like your questions aren’t being answered directly. I’m also concerned to hear about your experience getting answers to your questions and the communication with your loan team.
I can understand how upsetting it would be to see a significant change in the amount needed at closing without feeling like you had a clear explanation beforehand. Changes can occur throughout the loan process, but you deserve to understand what changed and why.
I appreciate you taking the time to share these concerns. I’d like the opportunity to look more closely at your experience and the communication you received throughout the process. Please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Jason and his team were very professional, patient, and courteous. They were a delight to work with.
VU made the process easy not just because of their great communication, but because of the team that I was blessed to be assigned. Everyone was responsive, personable, and had my best interests in mind throughout the process.

Great service, awesome team and fantastic communication throughout the entire process.
Me team was great!!!! Everything from paperwork to talking on the phone for reassurance!!!
To be quite honest, I was totally blown away by the team that worked my project. I had a bad experience with the original real estate agent, and that was quickly resolved, without question. From the moment I was assigned to Samantha all the negative feelings evaporated. She was absolutely brilliant in what she did. She guided me through the process without complaint, giving me enough information to soothe the savage beast within me, and she answered my questions with professional competence, fully and without exasperation, even when my own questioning got a bit sideways. At not time, at all, did I ever wonder about the team. Not one moment, which for me, is unusual. I give them and the entire VU organisation my highest marks!

Response from Veterans United
Hi Charlene,
I’m sorry to hear how difficult your first week in your new home has been. Dealing with concerns about the electrical system, drainage, and other conditions so soon after moving in would be incredibly frustrating, especially when you feel you haven’t been able to get the answers you need.
The VA appraisal evaluates the home’s value and certain readily observable property conditions, but it isn’t a substitute for a comprehensive home inspection and may not identify every issue. While Veterans United doesn’t control the condition of the property, I’d like to better understand your experience and help point you toward the appropriate resources. Please contact me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
Sincerely,
