The only issue was a delay in closing due to multiple "reviews" that were needed. The appraisal came in just short of our offer, but our contract already had language in it that stated I would pay the difference in cash. VU stated a couple of times that this needed to be addressed which caused a delay when it was already in the contract they had from the very beginning. This cause me to pay several extra hundred dollars in rent since the seller allowed us to move in before closing. We should have been able to close many days earlier if not for this oversight.
Horace was amazing!!!! Always providing exceptional service going above and beyond. Myself and my wife Megan live busy lives and he consistently made the experience comfortable for the biggest decision of our lives as first time home buyers. We had better offers from another lender but went with Veterans United soley because of Horace, he displayed the epitome of professionalism, customer service, and technical expertise. Between everyone he talked to no one came even close to him.
10/10 would recommend any veteran military affiliated person use them they are great trusted and have you're interested in mind.
The refinance process was wonderful, the team made it stress free and fast. Always talked to me professionally and answer all my questions. Friendly people and treated my wife and me as family. Not much to say. Not recommended. Will refinance next year. My family member bought a home in August and have a 3.5% rate. But all Veterans United people did was telling me that the rate are higher and pretend as if it is.
They need to stop lying and estimating that drives me nuts. They will estimate a number and it’s nowhere close.. closing is estimated at 2500 all of a sudden closing is 1000. Don’t trust this company, not transparent about service charges. No one told me I have to pay 3% of my loan costs in addition to closing, inspection, and all the other expenses.
As a First time home buyer, they left me to the wolves, so much more complaints about this company and shitty loan officers, not enough space… BOTTOM LINE , not great at all and I would never recommend.
