Underwriting is the only reason I would tell another veteran to not use VU.
From preapproval to closing, Veterans United was there at every step to assist and guide us through the process. Our credit was not A+, but VU managed to pre-approve us for enough to get the house we wanted even in a tumultuous housing market. Even the small things like researching utility providers and forwarding our mail were extremely helpful in our search. The search was grueling because of the housing market, but the loan process was a breeze because of our team at Veterans United. Our loan officer personally contacted the sellers and agents on our behalf to help them overcome preconceived opinions about VA loans and borrowers. That was critical in our home search.
The Veterans United program is an amazing program and I encourage all veterans to take full advantage of this resource. They made the purchase of my first home seamless and provided me with several opportunities to learn about the house buying process. They took the time to walk me through each section of the house buying process. I would and will recommend this program to any veteran looking to purchase a home.
Adam and Dena were great. So was Cede. Smooth process and was informed every step of the way.
Everyone was very helpful during the whole purchasing procedure and was
always in contact with additional information on what was happening next.
Ms. Shelby Baseler was always ready with information and updates.
Collin Ward is not good at his profession in my opinion.

The thought of buying a new home can be daunting to say the least. When it comes to mortgages, having the information we need, when we needed it, was a great help. VU was able to provide that. Absolutely loved the video and calculator resources on the site. They were extremely informative in letting us know what to expect each step of the way. Our loan team knew their stuff and kept us informed throughout the entire process and even went out of their way to research and provide us with resources in the area we were moving to. We never felt like we were lost or did not know what to expect, which is extremely important as first-time home buyers. As far as expectations for mortgage companies, VU has set the bar extremely high for us. The high level of customer service we received would be extremely hard to beat.
