This was a great experience. My only issues were with the builder. Original close date was 3/31, changed to 5/31, then 6/18 and we finally closed on 6/21. Suzanne and the team at Veterans United Home Load did an excellent with all the date changes and making sure everything was ready for the closing.

DO NOT RECOMMENDOur overall experience with Veterans United was tantamount to a nightmare. Overall the online services and support from the concierges were splendid and we had zero issues; quite the contrary, we found them to be exceptional.
Our issues were with our loan officer, the process of securing the loan for the purchase of our new home, and the client advocacy experience. Early in the process we requested information and preapproval information to appropriately prepare ourselves to make reputable, yet realistic offers in the current market; a market where acquiring a home is exceptionally competitive, particularly for military service members.
We were told numerous times over the phone, in writing, and via an official preapproval letter, that we were able to make an offer on home at $369,900 without first selling our previous home that was also procured via a VA loan, albeit not with Veterans United. We made an offer with no contingency on the home and were ecstatic that our offer was accepted. Over the coming 45 days, we made all necessary deposits and payments to fulfill the requirements of the loan. Two weeks prior to the contracted closing date, our loan officer informed us that he had made a mistake and overlooked our Veteran entitlements for a VA loan; despite our debt-to-income and our credit permitting this acquisition of the home. In order to attain our desired home using the VA loan with Veterans United, we would have to either sell our other home, which was already under contract, though with a slightly later closing date; or, we would have to place a $15,000 cash down payment along with the additional closing costs.
Despite our inquiries, our loan officer was difficult to contact and essentially informed us that there was absolutely nothing within his power to assist us, even if our other home sold a few days after closing on the new house. To further the frustrations, our loan officer was quite absent in the week leading up to the closing date. It was only as we approached the day prior to closing that he requested various forms of paperwork that required our attention as well as the attention of the builder/seller. The day prior to closing, we were told that we may have to reschedule for the following day, which would place us in breach of contract leading to threats by the builder that he would nullify and walk away; a threat that was only neutralized by the dedication of our realtor. Nevertheless, our loan agent was not returning our repeated calls and only seemed to call us when he required our attention.
We elected to reach out to the client advocacy to seek further support. This led to the advocacy agent passively taking notes on our issues where he then proceeded to inform our loan agent that we were filing a complaint on him. This left us feeling absolutely alone with no support and at the mercy of the poor service of Veterans United.
By the end of the day, we were informed by our realtor that our loan agent had rescheduled the closing date without notifying us, our realtor, the seller, nor the seller’s realtor; an action that I do not believe is legal. We are fortunate that our realtor was able to calm the seller, as he was livid and ready to walk away, only allowing us to proceed with the closing under his good graces.
The new closing day led to additional drama as our loan agent and his team were still requiring paperwork from the seller, despite the notion that we were to close that afternoon. This is all paperwork that could have been collected the previous week. All of this and we still had to pay the additional $15,000 due to an oversight by your loan agent.
This experience was a nightmare and one of the worst I have experienced in my adult life, regardless of the fact that we were able to close, though a day late. I will not recommend Veterans United to anyone and we are debating contacting the Better Business Bureau to share with them of our experience with Veterans United.

Veterans United helped select the correct loan for my situation and were helpful in trying to make the closing as easy as possible by signing (Docusign) many of the documents ahead of time.

My experience with the Veterans United team was outstanding from the beginning through the home closing. I appreciated that almost all of the documentation and required signatures were accomplished online. The Title Company that they used arranged for the closing at my home which I thought was super. The interest rate was lower than any other lenders at the time. I highly recommend that military veterans and active military personnel use Veterans United for their home loans.

Veterans United is a true one stop place where you not only get a Lon company, but realtors that know the ins and outs off using your VA benefits and what a VA appraisal and inspection would be looking for. You also het a title team that helps you get through that final day of signing all the needed paperwork and give you all
The local information you will need to set up utilities and other VA needs. Aaron and his team were professional to the end.

I would really like to encourage other Veteran homebuyers. You really can't go wrong with Veteran United they really work with you by any means necessary to get you into your dream home. Other lenders could probably give you a hard time, but Veteran United made our process smooth and easy. I will definitely be referring other veterans to Veterans United.
