Everyone at Veteran’s United Home Loans made us feel safe in this life changing experience. They were there to ease us every step of the way, and made sure we felt secure during the entire process. When looking to buy again I will definitely use their company again, and I will also refer them to those that need it!
I recommend looking at your options with other local banks/credit unions before settling with Veterans United (VU). We missed our first closing (several day delay) and almost our second closing date due to a lack of attention-to-detail by someone at VU. It seems they relied on their system to communicate and didn't follow-up; I had to push for direct person-to-person communication for them to figure out the problem. We ultimately went with VU because they were a mortgage company and they donate to the local community. If you don't see this benefit with VU, I suggest shopping local banks/credit unions. VU does send a cute housewarming gift after closing as a thanks for your business...I'd prefer better service.
Response from Veterans United
Thank you for this feedback Robert. We understand how the home buying process can get stressful, especially when certain aspects are not resolved quickly and accurately the first time. Delivering exceptional customer service is important to all of us at Veterans United and that means not relying on our systems and providing personalized communication. One of our Client Advocate team members has begun to research your comments, and will be working hard to learn as much as possible about what caused your closing delays. While we cannot change the experience you had we are committed to accountability, exploring ways to improve, and seeking opportunities to continue serving you. Should you wish to share more information regarding this or any other matter, then please do not hesitate to connect with us.
The loan team at VU is absolutely terrific. By far, this was the most seamless home loan process I’ve ever experienced. 10/10! Thank you!
I'd 100% recommend veterans United for all of their VA loan home buying needs. They made it their goal to make it the least painful and least stressful process it could be from start to finish and would have late work with them again.
Be calm, you're in great Hands. They make things happen.
This was a stressful process. Veterans United was terrible to work with. They were polite, but quite frankly we’re bad at doing their job. Lost paperwork, poor communication, closing delays at their fault, too many failures that only frustrated the process.
Response from Veterans United
Ying, thank you for letting us know there may have been preventable delays during your loan experience. It is important that we take time to research your comments and look for ways to prevent a similar situation down the road. Providing clear and effective communication is a top priority, and a member of our Client Advocate team is available to discuss your experience in greater detail. Our hope is that your home serves you well and that our commitment to providing outstanding service will have a positive impact in the future.
You guys are just incredible all the work and time you put into it we appreciate it so much thank you
David Kitchen and Brayden Byrd were a tremendous help through the whole home buying process. I appreciate all their help and would recommend them to anyone looking to use their VA Loan Benefits.
I recommend Veterans United without hesitation. They know their business and can explain it in plain language, promptly and courteously. I have bought 2 other homes with my VA benefits, but without Veterans United and I will never buy without VU again. They tell you what to expect, help you understand unexpected delays, and keep fighting through the process for you. When they tell you they can close the deal, they will!
I’ve now purchased three homes and Veteran’s United by far exceeded my experiences with other lenders. Hopefully this is our last house to buy but, if we did end up moving again, I won’t go to anyone else.
