Veterans United has a great team working to accomplish the goal. They were very courteous and quickly returned phone calls and emails when I had questions. I wasn't even closed a month for my refinance and I had already recommended them to others. Veterans United is very knowledgeable when it comes down to it. They will be my first choice whenever I get asked who to go to.

The easiest and beat company to use to buy a home. The website walks you through the application process and then notifies you when you have a task required of you (such as upload a copy of your paystub or schedule an inspection). All of my documents are in one place. Even my last application process is there for me to see. It’s awesome!

Active duty members that are about to retire, be aware, they will ask for income documents (retirement pay) and VA documents you will not have. They ask for other documents over and over and even the day before closing. The underwriters are horrible!!

Response from Veterans United

Melissa, we appreciate your honest feedback and we understand that the underwriting process did not meet your expectations. Licensed Underwriters comply with regulations to ensure loans are properly documented, and we work to make that process as easy as possible. The mortgage process can certainly feel intrusive, but we want to reassure you that this in-depth analysis is a worthwhile step. The underwriting process serves to protect the integrity of our industry and families who might otherwise fall into a financial hardship. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you, and we hope you enjoy your new home! If there were any aspects that you felt we could have handled better, then contact our Client Advocate team to discuss.

My experience was a breeze from start to finish. 30 days is all it took to close. Everyone that we came into contact with was polite, courteous and respectful. It was a pleasure doing business with Veterans United.

The last two and half weeks working with Brian were awful and super stressful, and I was just trying to power threw it to get my home purchased. I felt like you forgot about my file because you could not remember my closing date when it was only 5 days away, did not take the time to realize my appraisal came in 20k under price even though you sent out new numbers that reflected the change. Tracking down information from military commands can be challenging and you should know early on if you need a Statement Of Service so that a person is not completely stressed out trying to get paperwork. It clearly says on the Veterans United Website site that you will need a DD214 or SOS. I would still like an explanation of why I needed both. Being worried about losing the house because of paperwork not being filed correctly, the rate lock what might expire all contributed to this horrible experience.

Response from Veterans United

Veterans United has been a great company to work with when buying and refinancing a home. Staff are very responsive, the process is easy and laid out clearly, and I find their website to be very user-friendly. No plans to buy or refinance for years to come, but if I do, I’m going to return to Veterans United.
