We would prefer the option of not having an escrow account since the VA don't require it and often the estimated property taxes are too high . We would prefer to keep the money ourselves and get 4.5% int on it until needed however , We realize your concern about people being responsible and paying them. People with a great credit record usually pay their bills and on time .
We are super happy with Veterans United and the great service provided by Juliana and her team! Forever grateful for getting us through the process and into our new home!
To achieve my dream home was not an easy feat, it required more than most situtations would. There were times where I felt completely overwhelmed and defeated, as most first-time home buyers can quickly feel, and had moments to where I simply just didn't understand certain aspects. The exceptional team, Gerrit and Lyndsey truly took their time to go out of their way to thoroughly explain every detail throughout the process to make it a priority for me to grasp every concept, to where someone with no background nor knowledge of real estate could fully comprehend and have confidence knowing for the future. They remained patient and professional the entire duration, and I can't thank them enough for their valiant efforts. I highly recommend Veterans United to others looking to secure their forever home.
We missed the close date. You had all the paperwork for 5 days and didn't look at it until the day before closing. The only way I knew we weren't going to close is you added a "task' to my "to do list" at 3:30 pm the day before closing, requesting more paperwork. This should have been at least a phone call. The next day Megan who I had been corresponding with would not reply to text or phone calls and turns out she was on vacation. This is a pretty stressful event and could have been avoided by looking at the paperwork early or at least communicating clear expectations and timelines. Doug was then able to get it done in a timely manner, but I had to be the one to put urgency on the situation.
Couldn't be more pleased with Devin and his team. Very professional, helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent all-around experience!!
I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you guys. You just made my dreams come true!!
Working with Veterans United was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Their team was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and supportive throughout the entire home buying process. They went above and beyond to ensure that I understood each step, and they were always available to answer any questions I had. Their dedication to helping veterans achieve their dream of homeownership is truly commendable. I would highly recommend Veterans United to any veteran or military member looking to buy a home.

The loan process was good until we got within 4 day of the closing date.
My entire team was phenomenal! After a nasty divorce, I can say I knew going into the homebuying process that this was going to be an uphill battle. I spoke with our Loan Officer, Tony Stephenson, and immediately felt 100% better. It was going to take some work on our end, and some time, but there was a way we could make this as painless as possible. With several months of work, and very consistent communication back and forth, we were able to get the preapproval we had hoped for. We found a home that was perfect for our family, and Veteran's United made sure we never had any questions along the way. Several people kept us in the loop as to where our approval was in the process, what would happen next, and what was needed from us (if anything). I've bought a few other houses in my life and none of them went as smoothly as this one (something that I would've thought would be the opposite in the situation I was in). After my original documents were uploaded, I was never asked to send anything a second time, something that (if you've purchased a house before) you know to be a pain. Not with Veteran's United! They were very methodical and organized, and I really felt like I could trust them. The week before we closed on our home, we received a mysterious box in the mail from our Veteran's United team. To our delight, all of the wonderful people that had helped us with our loan had sent our children a little care package. We have three boys, the oldest being seven, and inside were loads of adorable nature-related activities. Colored pencils and scavenger hunt cards, a magnifying bug viewer, bubbles, and a special "moon-ball" that my 5 year old can't stop playing with- amongst other things. It was like all of the times we had "small-talk" over the phone, they really listened and took note; it felt like they really knew our family and we were absolutely taken aback by their generosity.I'm not one to write reviews, and I don't want to go on forever, but I would absolutely recommend Veteran's United, Tony Stephenson, Rachel Lenz, and Shanellen Sullivan to anyone who is in the market to purchase a home. From a real person with real experience, they treat you like long-time friends. Thank you to our whole team who pulled it all together for us to make this dream possible, we literally can't think of one bad thing to say. We are so grateful for all your help! Keep up the great work!
