I can't imagine that another company could make this process as pain free and simple as Veteran's United did. They were amazing, if I had known it would be this easy to buy a house I would have tried years ago. Hats off to Veteran's United!!!
I can't even begin to express my feelings about the experience i have had with Vererans United and Derrek Harmon. He is not just an awesome loan officer, he is an amazing person. Through every bump, curve and detour... Derrek never gave up nor allowed me to give up. He always made me feel like family. He kept in touch even in his time off. He never made me wait until it was convenient for him. He always found time to give answers to what were probably at times annoying questions. Derrek always, always, always kept me in the loop with what was happening. I never thought in a million years that i would say anything close to this about a loan officer... i will actually miss speaking with him about the terms of the loan, he is one in a million! Thank you for employing such a genuine young man! Veterans United has earned an A+++ in my book. I would highly recommend Veterans United and Derrek Harmon to any Veteran searching for their dream!!!
As a buyer, the loan process went well until about three days before closing. I was told that a pest inspection was needed on an outbuilding that, in my opinion, should have been completed when the pest inspection was completed on the home (which was done at least two weeks before closing). I was told to get a report and had to call several pest companies before I was able to get it done. Then was told that the information wasn't enough! Because of this, the loan closing was close to being postponed. I contacted a person at Veteran's United to intervene on my behalf. After it was determined that there was enough information, closing went as scheduled. This was very frustrating and upsetting to be told the loan could be postponed after working on getting everything together for at least 3 months! Except for this, I was pleased with Veteran's United overall. Buyers need to go over the VA inspection report very carefully to make sure everything is noted and the proper paperwork is in order at least two weeks before closing!
With my husband being a veteran, we decided to check out Veterans United as the first place to start looking. We were very comfortable talking to the initial contact and it grew from there. Someone suggested we check out the rates they were offering for loyal customers and we had been with this bank over 12+ years. What a disappointment... they couldn't offer anything like what Kyle and his team at Veterans United could and did offer from start to finish. I would recommend Kyle and Veterans United to any veteran who is looking to purchase a home!

We talked twice on the phone other then that a few texts I just felt like it would have been nice to have someone check in more and explain the whole process better for a first time home buyer we will not be using you guys if we buy again just because we felt like things we not really explained to us and we would get texts instead of a phone call to do something on the website

The whole process was so smooth and easy! Any time I had a question, it was answered in detail. We ultimately closed 2 weeks early! The online tools (file uploads, esigning documents) is robust and reliable. Awesome experience and highly recommend.
