When all else fails, turn to Veterans United.
Most of the process was smooth and easy. Erin, Shaunte and Andrew were friendly, approachable, and easily reachable for communications and updated. The shadow to the process came on closing day. The loan officer did not communicate with us about what to expect and timeline for closing. Our Title Agency said it usually takes about an hour for funding, yet it took Veterans United over 4 hours. If that is the norm, it would have been extremely helpful if the loan officer had communicated that with us ahead of time. We attempted to obtain updates later in the day, as well as the Title Agency, and received no response from the loan officer as to what was going on. We did not even get a congratulations or notification of funding from the loan officer or anyone at Veterans United once it was all set. Outside of the disappointment we felt due to the lack of communication and transparency on closing day, we were satisfied with the rest of the process.
Veterans United is amazing! They really took care of me and made the home buying process as painless and easy as possible. I couldn't have picked a better lender to buy my first home through.

Veterans United is amazing. The people that work there are all great people who truly care about you. It's difficult to convey just how prepared they were to make what would otherwise be a stressful occasion into one that was fun and stress free. I guess the only way to really know is to try them for yourself.
We wanted a second house and aren't sure if we qualify for a second VA Loan. But when Veterans United called us, talked with us, right away, we learned we can. There was no "let me ask the legal department, " or "I'll call you right back to make sure you can make 2nd VA loan". Mr Gustafson was very professional, straightforward and pleasant. All through the process, it was a seamless. No surprises, no headaches!
Since this was our first VA loan, the only thing that might have been better is if costs of the loan (ex: the VA loan fee) had been more proactively explained. However, they were explained well after they came up on loan documents. All in all, we enjoyed the open line of communication and transparency.
