I have heard many "horror" stories about buying and closing on a home, but I am very glad to say that is not the case with Veterans United. Aside from a small hic-up on the sellers side before closing, the entire process was very fast and more importantly, easy and stress free for me. One thing I've not had a chance to understand just yet, is why - when I thought I would be getting back most if not all of my $1,000 earnest money - I wound up paying an EXTRA $116.33 at closing?!That is a $1,116 turn-around from where I expected to be, to where we wound up. I shall be digging a bit to see how this went upside-down.

Missed our tentative closing date due to some unforeseen underwriter requirements, and document resubmissions. No forecasted closing date made at the time. The settlement company contacted us on the day of the closing. Had to reschedule work related travel to facilitate the closing. We were still verifying employment during the closing process? Overall, I was pleased with the experience, and the timeframe to close.
