The experience with Veterans United was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish my team was very responsive to all my inquiries and concerns. The process was very stress free for the most. I would recommend that any Veteran looking to purchase a home contract Veterans United today.
Loan Officer was difficult to reach several times. Sent me loan estimate before closing without explanation of cash needed to close. Had to call several times to get a clear explanation. Later on my to do list were instructions to liquidate my retirement savings, which is something I had never discussed with anyone at Veterans United, was entirely unnecessary, and I had to ask it to be removed from my to do list. In the two weeks leading up to closing date, I emailed my loan officer twice to make sure closing was ready to go, cash to close was clear. On the day of closing, and on my way to the title company, loan officer called me and said he had not updated my paperwork, and that I would not be able to close that day, and instead would need over $35k in cash to close! Or wait 72 hours and then close! I had emailed twice on the past two weeks and he had acknowledged our plan and that cash would not be needed to close! In the end, he somehow managed to correct the paperwork the same day and we closed same day. But what a terrible experience all the way through.
I have been working with VUHL for the past 5 to 7 years and more aggressively searching these past two years. Qualifying was not our issue. As I said the process qualifying hadnt been our issue. Our issue was finding something in the criteria of VUHL, Distance of Location, Affordability, Market availability and not being bullied out of an opportunity that could be reasonable. Well unreasonably it is far from where we'd love to be but near enough we wanted to pull this trigger and pursue the closing out on our Journey. Kudos To Mark Dischert, Chris Angelo who have for the most of our journey aiding in follow ups Erin Bell, Heather Risenhoover, Ally. safe landings now we're preparing to pick up our Keys T-Shirts from Lennar at Aviano from VUHL soon. Overall the team did pretty good and got my wife and I into our new home which is all we can ask for. However, sometimes the process felt unorganized with the amount of different people we had to talk to and seemingly lack of communication between them. I understand that each member is working numerous cases and it can get jumbled up but it’s frustrating when something is said that has already been covered or isn’t relevant to our case.
Steve Brockman and his entire chain was very thoughtful and professional and helped me and my wife immensely. I would highly recommend him any day of the week. It was a true blessing to work with him and he taught me a lot and guided and directed our home purchase
