I noted in an email that they may want to exercise more tact in phrasing some questions. (One question in particular was accusatory and presumed that I had done something wrong when I hadn’t.) I called it to the team’s attention and it was never addressed. It left a bad taste in my mouth for an otherwise flawless experience.
Cal was incredible. Extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and patient! Our home search took a long time, and he had no problem helping every step of the way of every single offer.The same thing happened during our search in Missouri with Horace. They both took their time to make sure we understood everything and felt comfortable with each decision. That makes it clear that it’s not just luck getting us an incredible loan officer, but an amazing company that has them everywhere. We would absolutely recommend VU to family and friends!

An absolutely OUTSTANDING team! They really helped make everything as easy as possible so that I had minimal amounts of stress throughout the home buying process. The team really came through for me and I don't think I could've been paired with anyone better, they were absolutely life savers!
As a veteran of 26 years, I would not recommend this company. It took them nearly 6 weeks to close on a simple $100k mortgage, and were constantly coming back to me for the same requests over and over, after completing the "to-do" list, b/c they stated that the "underwriters" weren't understanding how to handle documents, divorce decrees, alimony, banking statements, etc. They had a never-ending "to-do" list, that they couldn't tell me how long it was bc they kept telling me "it depends on the underwriters", never a direct answer unless I demanded a direct answer as the customer. It was unbelievably drawn out and the pure lack of instructions or warnings on things not to do while a mortgage is being processed is another business model failure that Veteran's United really needs to re-look at. Telling me in week 5 that I can't move large amounts of money in or out of my own checking account, or it may cause further delays is another example. Telling me this the Friday before closing on the following Tuesday, and also having to reschedule the closing 3 times was purely ridiculous. The business model is terrible, doesn't work, is not customer friendly, and drug the process on for WEEEEEEKS. Completely disappointed and will never use them again. I used my credit union just 1 year earlier to purchase another similar condo property, and we closed in 3 weeks, and i barely had to submit anything beyond a credit report, income proof, etc.
