Joe Choi was my Loan Officer. As a first time home owner I have plenty of questions. Joe answered all of my calls, answered all of my questions, and provided the best advice when proceeding with my closing documents. Joe Choi was hands down the best Loan Officer I could've been paired with as a first time home owner.
With Lauren Ross and David Kirby working along side him they made the process smooth and easy. Huge shout out to David Kirby for being quick and efficient. I submitted through the VA Home Loan website and within literal minutes David called me to get the paperwork rolling.
Great job from start to finish. Everything explained step by step
The team was phenomenal. Thank you Mr. Scott for answering any and all questions and concerns during the process. He was patient and was consistent in status checks and follow ups.
I am disappointed in Veterans United after half a dozen transactions in the last decade. Congrats on the quickest close for a botched transaction. These newbies need to understand that salespeople in The Villages are not held to the same standards as realtors. They are predatory. I do not want another veteran to end up in this situation. Highway rest stops are built with more environmental protections in place than 1978 Lockett Lane, situated along the Florida Turnpike and rattled with noise, truck, bus & vehicle emissions, etc. There are not enough trees planted to absorb any of it.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Robert,
I’m really sorry to hear how disappointing this experience was, especially after working with Veterans United multiple times over the years. I understand why this feels like a letdown, and I hear how strongly you feel about protecting other veterans from going through something similar.
I also want to acknowledge your concerns about the property itself. VA appraisals are limited to assessing value and basic safety at face value, and they don’t account for factors like long-term noise, environmental conditions, or surrounding emissions. That’s why a separate home inspection is so important, though I know that doesn’t lessen how frustrating this outcome feels now.
I’d appreciate the opportunity to better understand what happened and hear more about your concerns. If you’re open to it, our Client Advocate team can be reached at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
I was nervous to initially check it out, there was always an one excuse or another not to do it. My credit is not the very best but it is decent and it really has to be. Don't expect them to be able to accomplish a un realistic home loan. Be honest with Veterans United and the team assigned to you but more importantly be honest with yourself. Don't expect miracles, know your budget, be prepared, be proactive and most importantly be patient and respond to their request immediately. It's your loan after-all even though you'll feel like the team is only working on your loan, keep in mind they are also working on others and their loans but their response to your concerns are still their highest priority. Even by email which in some cases are at odd late / early morning hours. Just shows you they are definitely working on your behalf to give you their very best effort to make your loan happen. If your expectations are realistic and your honestly expecting a good experience you'll be satisfied. Unless your assigned Loan specialist team is Logan and his team then good won't be "good enough" of a rating you'll actually recieve an excellent experience. Also would like to say to you all that Logan's team includes a beautiful coordinator/specialist named Taylor working on your loan and she is a Rockstar, I give Taylor 100 stars as she is fantastic in all areas as well. If I had to do it again I'd request and not quit requesting for Logan and Taylor to be assigned to accomplish my loan package that's how great they are.
Logan and team made me the happiest new home owner i could be and like I stated above they are what makes the Veterans United Home Loan experience stand out among the rest.
My experience with VU started off by me just calling in to ask a few questions about a loan. I had no intention on applying right then. I spoke with Torie H and we stayed on the phone for almost an hour and I was sold and applied for a loan. She made me feel very comfortable and wasn’t PUSHY. After applying with Torie I was told that my actual loan officer was Melissa and she was on vacation. But that didn’t stop Melissa from calling me to introduce herself to me. From there she made my home buying experience the easiest and smoothest ever. I decided to float my rate and Melissa called me or texted me daily to let me know where the rate was and where I stood. My whole experience with her was awesome. Melissa and her team made me feel like I was a part of a family. She gets my vote for the BEST in the business.
The whole team was very professional and communicative. This has been our very best home buying experience by far.
At times it was hard to get ahold of my team but other than that everything else was good.
I really had the best dream team. From Seller, to Lender, to the VA, to the agents. Thank you Miss Ashley and Miss Crystal. Always in the best interest of the client. So patient and kind and mindful. We all went through some hurdles but ultimately had to go through them to get through them and eventually shoot for the win, I love you all and thank you all. 🩶

My local team was great, and they let up with everything and had me in the loop every step of the way.
Excellent! Rebecca Fowler was an exceptional help; any questions we had were answered quickly and efficiently. 10/10 Streamlined process.
Rob and team have always been phenomenal. I’ve had to move a couple times, and they have been my go to each time; now it’s in my forever home and I can’t thank them enough.

Veteran's United assisted in making my first-time home buying experience very comfortable.
They made a dream come true in a time of a housing crisis, the VA loan protected us from buying a house that was flipped with loads of hidden issues. I got a home with brand new everything and a proper inspection to assure everything was done right. They were completely patient with us and they set us up for success I couldn't be happier with the home we found; It feels surreal Thank you guys!
Thanks @Martin and Suzanne for helping me getting this house.
