Not having the ability to contact someone on a weekend is a bit difficult to deal with and all the last minute stuff that should have been addressed earlier for underwriting. I realize my loan officers changed but everything I told the original ones was not relayed to the new ones which were the things that came up for final underwriting. It was also an issue not having the paperwork sent to the closing attny until after we were all waiting past the time of the closing appointment. It looked really bad to the sellers and their agent made a big deal out of how she had worked with clients in the past that had used veterans united and that she tells her clients to get another lender.
My experience with Veterans United was phenomenal. I have worked with other institutions in the past where the process was impersonal and confusing, not here. With VU I knew I had a team I could call any time with questions and that actually cared about getting me and my family into a home. That personal touch made all the difference for me, and I wouldn't go anywhere else for a home loan in the future.

I wouldn't purchase a home through ANY other lender. I'm single and don't have the ability to 'bounce things around' with a partner, over dinner. My Dream Team ended up BEING my "partner" - I could discuss whether certain specs of a home, would work, with Kevin, turn around and joke with Matthew about collecting certain documentation buried in my moving mess, and chat with Molly about who I needed to talk to in order to have an internet modem. The team was seamless - each of them professional yet down to earth on "real life" issues.
